在2001年的格莱美颁奖礼上，Eminem与Elton John再次演绎这首曲子。它被收录在Eminem的专辑《Curtain Call: The Hits》中歌词中写到一个叫Stan的粉丝，他写了很多信给EMINEM，但没得到回复。他最后被愤怒和疯狂吞没，选择了极端的手段：服下大量安眠药，痛饮五瓶伏特加，将他的未婚妻绑在后备箱，录下了对Eminem最后的话（即第三段Stan)，却不知道怎么寄出，就在这时冲下了大桥，淹没在一片沉寂的水花中。

EMINEM想以此警示歌迷，分清他歌中的虚实。他的朋友PROOF在采访中说，“当他的歌迷出事时我们刚从米兰回来，那个叫Stan的歌迷简直是太疯狂了。”（在CCTV10的栏目《人物》埃米纳姆中17分30秒）也许这个名字不是真实的，但是故事并不是虚构的。
