劇情簡介
在一個無處不在的喪屍已經威脅到了人類的生活的世界，科羅克特帶領一幫武裝部隊從無休止的混亂中撤出，尋找一個喪屍尚未侵入的庇護所。途中他們遇見了遭到放逐的家族長老帕特裡克·歐弗林，歐弗林告訴他們，在一個偏遠的漁島上有這樣一個新的樂土。
然而，當科羅克特一行踏上海島後，才發現事實并非如此。很快，他們陷入了歐弗林家族與他們的仇家穆頓斯家族之間持續已久的争鬥中。真相漸漸顯現，歐弗林當初被逐出島上，就是因為他堅持要将僵屍趕盡殺絕，而穆頓斯則認為不應對本已經遭受痛苦的親人們下手，并嘗試照顧那些變成喪屍的親屬們，等待他們痊愈的一天。變成喪屍的人被鎖在自己的家中，假裝過着正常的生活。事實證明這樣維護家園穩定的做法是行不通的，它将帶來更加血腥的後果，一場絕望的戰鬥将決定活人與喪屍之間能否和平共存。
