在2001年的格萊美頒獎禮上，Eminem與Elton John再次演繹這首曲子。它被收錄在Eminem的專輯《Curtain Call: The Hits》中歌詞中寫到一個叫Stan的粉絲，他寫了很多信給EMINEM，但沒得到回複。他最後被憤怒和瘋狂吞沒，選擇了極端的手段：服下大量安眠藥，痛飲五瓶伏特加，将他的未婚妻綁在後備箱，錄下了對Eminem最後的話（即第三段Stan)，卻不知道怎麼寄出，就在這時沖下了大橋，淹沒在一片沉寂的水花中。

EMINEM想以此警示歌迷，分清他歌中的虛實。他的朋友PROOF在采訪中說，“當他的歌迷出事時我們剛從米蘭回來，那個叫Stan的歌迷簡直是太瘋狂了。”（在CCTV10的欄目《人物》埃米納姆中17分30秒）也許這個名字不是真實的，但是故事并不是虛構的。
