個人經曆
Macklemore在常綠州立大學獲得學士學位。2000年，他以Professor Macklemore名字發行了EP《Open Your Eyes》。2005年，他發行了自己 的首張正式專輯《The Language of My World 》。
2009年9月，他發行了Mixtape《The Unplanned》，他以自己的毒品經曆創作出了大受好評的歌曲“Otherside”。
Macklemore每年會給粉絲們舉辦一個披薩派對，粉絲們有機會通過歌唱，畫畫等方式來得到與自己偶像見面的機會。
在個人方面， Macklemore并沒有出生在一個音樂世家。但是其父母都很支持兒子的音樂旅程。
從社會身份和地位來講，Macklemore是一個受壓迫受歧視的人。Macklemore曾是一個吸毒者，在吸毒的過程中他的名聲大跌，也讓他自己無所适從，因此開始戒毒。但Macklemore已經成功戒除毒瘾，并在一步步走回樂壇。
也正因如此，他的歌曲裡面包含着數個對消費主義、性别平等、種族平等和毒瘾的看法和觀念。提倡人們不應該戴有色眼鏡歧視别人。

總的來說Macklemore & Ryan Lewis的The Heist絕對是如今樂壇上一張出類拔萃的專輯：歌詞如詩，flow獨特、制作悅耳流暢，專輯充滿了理性、幽默、謙遜和批判。沒有低端的無止境的吹捧、暴力、性等等，多的是一份正能量，不是幼稚胡扯虛僞的正能量，是真正的可以振奮人的正能量。而作為一張獨立廠牌發行的專輯，單曲不斷刷新各種記錄、專輯大賣也可以說是狠狠地給了主流廠牌一個耳光。他們的事實告訴藝人們不是隻有随大流的内容才能吸引人，不是隻有大廠牌才能讓人飛黃騰達。
