《Single Ladies(Put A Ring On It)》由碧昂絲在加利福尼亞的Boom B oom Room錄音室錄制，時間是2008年4月。在接受公告牌雜志的采訪的時候，碧昂絲曾透露《Single Ladies(Put A Ring On It)》創作好了後，她就被這首歌吸引住了。她之所以選這首歌加入她的第三張錄音室專輯《I Am...Sasha Fierce》中，是因為她認為這首歌的主題是每個人都像讨論的話題。碧昂絲也表示，她創作這首歌曲的目的就是想讓許多女士能每次聽了這首歌後都能夠産生共鳴。
