Break Down簡介:（BreakDown可以簡稱為BKD）
不要認為BreakDown隻是街舞、Hip-Hop、說唱的一種舞蹈表現形式。
這裡的BreakDown指的是硬核(HradCore)、後硬核（Post-Hardcore）、金屬核(MetalCore)、死核(DeathCore)、碾核(GrindCore)、EMO情緒核(EMO Core&Scream Core)、新金屬(Nu Metal)，還有最近繁衍出的新生流派“電子核”，等一些像這樣類型的重金屬搖滾樂中的BreakDown。
BreakDown在字典中沒有準确翻譯。字面可以理解為減弱，分解，破壞，間隔（指的是音樂上整體的RIFF段變化的段落）。
起源
其實，最早Breakdown的初現是在70年代中末期，産生于雷鬼(Reggae)音樂中讓人們興緻勃勃地舞蹈的一種效果。那時的Breakdown隻是一種電子音樂，并沒有用上吉他激烈的失真、低音、悶音、和複雜的鼓點。
正式運用BreakDown是在80年代硬核(HardCore)剛剛在搖滾的大風暴之中嶄露光芒時而出現的。可以說，硬核是最早繁育Breakdown的音樂流派。後來，随着重型音樂發展的趨勢，更多的樂隊為了增強音樂的重量感，開始創作出讓人聽了熱血沸騰的一小段以節奏為主、旋律為輔的RIFF(音樂結構上的重複段)。像當今鋪天蓋地的金屬核和新激流金屬，都能體現出Breakdown。另外還有死核(DeathCore)，EMO甚至新金屬(Nu Metal)、殘死(Brutal Death Metal)、碾核(Grind Core)都會運用到Breakdown的技術。
有關解釋
自從2000千禧年後的美國重金屬新浪潮革命複興運動【NWOAHM——The New Wave Of American Heavy Metal】出現的那幾支金屬核&Nu Thrash新激流樂隊之後，【核樂】與【Breakdown】就成為了一個家喻戶曉的名詞了。
Breakdown其實沒有你想象中的那麼難那麼複雜，它僅僅隻是一段RIFF。這段RIFF不同于激烈的SOLO，從硬核開始，有很多樂隊在編排上省掉了SOLO，取而代之的就是Break Down RIFF段：一種聽了會使人振奮、甩頭、沖動、想打人，讓人進入到狂暴狀态的具有信号形式的一段樂句。Breakdown的音色可以用五個字來形容：重、低、悶、穩、狠。本歌單挑選的歌曲涵蓋了金屬核，前衛金屬，死核，後核，旋死等等風格。n
體現形式
音色：Breakdown的音色可以用五個字來形容：重、低、悶、穩、狠。先說說吉他的降弦吧。想要跟着鼓手的雙踩低音機關槍一起嗨，不降弦會很沒感覺的。早在80年代，以Thrash(激流金屬)為代表的金屬輝煌年代中，就有很多D-A-F-C-G-C這樣降弦彈RIFF的吉他手了。還有一些從新金屬中脫殼而出的新激流樂隊（比如早期的Chimaira）……呵呵。因為降了弦，吉他手在節奏上必須掌握好音色與節奏的顆粒感，這樣才能穩住節拍。右手的琴橋悶音，左手強力五+護弦，都是體現Breakdown RIFF的給力因素之一。另外力度在BreakDown中會得到體現，這樣才有“狠”的效果。
所以打Breakdown的吉他手是很累的，這将考驗這些玩新浪潮重金屬的吉他手們的體力是否充沛。還有一些吉他手會直接放棄左手，僅僅用空弦（六弦）打出Breakdown（比如大名鼎鼎的金屬核之父——PANTERA吉他手DimeBag）。而現在很多的新派樂隊都喜歡模仿哥德堡之聲那樣注重Breakdown的旋律性了，所以現在的Breakdown的音色是五花八門，樣樣俱全。
速度：在一些BreakDown RIFF中，與整體相比Breakdown的RIFF段會降慢速度或節拍，從16分音符降到8分音符（比如鼓手常用的底鼓和軍鼓的前八後十六音符的切換），休止音符也會經常使用，這樣才會有一種間歇、沉重、緩慢、穩定的聲效。就拿大家熟悉的美國新浪潮金屬運動中樂隊們的作品來舉例吧，像Chimaira的Dead Inside到最後的那一段Breakdown，音符跟節拍的明顯變化，體現出了整體音樂沉穩緩慢又不失兇狠。還有LOG的《Now you've got something to d?e for》等等等等…但是，不是所有的BreakDown都會這樣做的，有時候也會提速。這都是根據整首作品的律動性來改動速度的變化。
節奏：在一些BreakDown RIFF中，節奏感會在這段Breakdown中體現得更加複雜——吉他粗重的悶音，使用6弦并且降弦來交替打出多變的節奏和休止符的停頓，比如“抗抗抗 抗抗 抗 抗抗，抗抗抗 抗抗 抗抗 抗”，三連音五連音在Breakdown中不足為奇；Bass，這個巨爽的低音炮炸彈，除了在節奏上跟着雙踩大炮走着自己的Bassline之外，還有直接用上效果器開失真——許多玩死核(Deathcore)的樂隊們都認為這才是重低音的力量；
鼓手穩重的雙踩，就像兩顆電子加農炮在你腦海炸不停，加上那讓左右聲道都感到壓力很大的雙重镲片(Crash Cymbal），……雖然這些都沒有沖擊波——Blast beat那般兇猛，但也是讓人熱血沸騰、從頭甩到尾的給力因素！！另外，說到鼓手，在Breakdown中都是一大重點，Breakdown也都是考驗鼓手的技巧、大腦與身體協調性和即興創作的時候。出色的鼓手往往能夠編制出完美的RIFF讓金屬飯BreakDown與MoshPit們享受。舞台表現力(MoshPit)：許多玩Breakdown的樂隊在台風上都會特别專注地去練習，為了就是在舞台上更加顯示自己咱樂隊有多麼地能幹。
甩頭——這一大極限運動是體現Breakdown的經典表現形式之一。一般甩頭分為四種：風車式、鐘擺式、點頭式、直升機式。當然，除了甩頭和大規模地人海POGO圈之外，更能體現Breakdown的是一種更加暴力的形式，那是一種台下的金屬飯們特有的招式，那就是一種稱為Moshpit的打架。不，我的意思不是說歌迷與歌迷之間的打架，金屬飯們從來都是有素質的人，不會惡意傷害其他人的。我說的意思是與空氣對打。瘋狂甩出雙臂，勾拳掄掌，踢出回旋踢，降龍十八掌、佛山無影腳，這些中國功夫竟然會在Breakdown中體現出來？呵呵不過這可不是與空氣過不去，這隻是一種Rage形式，一種熱愛搖滾的表現。

風格
不管是各種DJ，舞曲，還是任天堂核，這些音樂中都有Breakdown。一般都是在作品的中間部分。
這些Breakdown都很直接也很明顯，并且這一段是音樂整體中最重最硬最狠的一小段。
區别
Break與Breakdown差不多，在硬核中常見，都是在整體音樂當中起到最重要的的一段。Break是硬核中獨特的奏法，主要運用【休止符】來使節奏斷開、間歇。當然，Break的節奏，與BKD比起來更複雜、分的不好讓人迅速掌握。其特色，就是運用休止符，穿插在RIFF中，起到一種靜音的效果。
區分方法：
重、低、悶、穩、狠，Break少了穩和狠。其中，節奏上的“斷”，是區分Break與BKD的最好方法。
