dcTalk的灵魂人物tobyMac(原名TobyMcKeehan)是组合的主唱、词曲创作者兼音乐制作人,Toby在美国华盛顿长大并接触音乐。在Liberty大学,Toby认识了乐队的另两位成员MichaelTait和KevinMax,三个人一拍即合,于1987年正式建团。这支独特的融合了摇滚、流行甚至说唱元素的乐团1989年的同名首张专辑dcTalk、1990年的NuThang和1992年出版的FreeatLast在福音音乐市场和流行音乐市场均取得了成功。
这张专辑是Toby单飞后发行的第一张专辑.这张专辑是3人当中音乐最强烈的,音乐元素可以说是非常多元化的Hip-Hop,Rap,Rock,POP……各种比dcTalk时代更前卫的音乐元素,喜欢这几种风格音乐的朋友绝对不要错过阿!另外,Toby也在1994年成立了另一个福音品牌GoteeRecords,旗下有JenniferKnapp,RelientK,Sonicflood,Grits……一堆被认为颇具个性与卖相的另类福音歌手/团体,Toby算是DCTalk3人中最有经营头脑的。
